Having worked for nine years as a doctor in a Mission hospital in the Kwa-Zulu province of South Africa (1975 – 1984) and then becoming involved with fighting the HIV/AIDS problem since 1999, Dr John Schwarz, together with his wife Rosalie and a group of dedicated local people have been raising awareness and funds to help alleviate the devastating impact of HIV/AIDS on mainly orphaned and vulnerable children. Dr Schwarz is a local GP in camden and we are so very proud to do a little to help him with his foundation.
Our Community Pantry provides affordable groceries, essential household items, family meals and free fruit, vegetables, milk and bread to those who need it.
Our Community Pantry now has 1000 members who either are unemployed, retirees or live with a disability; people who are in financial hardship; people who are environmental conscious and other people who may not need the service but support the service to help it remain sustainable.
Paula and her massive team of volunteers work tirelessly for our community and it is a privilige to assist her and the team. Why not drop some containers into their orange bin next time you pop down to one of our depots?
